    Photo Update

New pictures after a long lag time. On my part, and on Spaces Live. For some reason it's been so slow to edit and save galleries. Then Firefox keeps crashing. Playoffs > photos. Anyways, updated galleries include: Stuff, Edibles, Nekos, Other Shots (including pictures of the mountain fire from Arcadia, short visit to Autobacs, and a return to UCR), Driven (pictures with the vinyl overlays), and Figures. Many more figure photos to come.

    Thelma Aoyama

Just got this CD last Saturday. It's an excellent album. Thelma has a strong voice and songs are catchy.
Track 2, which is really well introduced by the first track.

    Win Away from Home

Lakers with their 3rd win yesterday. Too bad I couldn't watch it on HD. Wizards with a tough loss this morning. They should have defended the 3pt line and stay on West, but Arenas had a chance and blew it. Spurs and Suns was a blow out from the first quarter. Spurs just couldn't get into their normal offense; settling for shots that were given to them.

Oh, and fire in Arcadia...Started while I was watching the Laker game. Air quality was still ok when I was there, but it's pretty bad today. So much for having it contained. It still looks pretty bad on TV. Fire is awesome for photos, but its getting dangerously close.

    Take 2

Lakers with their second win yesterday. The win complimented the lasagna very well. Kobe was on fire during that first quarter, which got me a bit worried about the rest of the team, but they were able to pull through. Hopefully in the next few games Lamar will play with more aggression and stay out of foul trouble. Lakers need him to play well if they want to win all 16 games.
Ghost Hunters last night was pretty interesting as well. The ghosts inside the hotel in Nevada are pretty hostile. I don't think it'll be a good idea to tear that place down to renovate.

Teams I'm rooting for this first round: Lakers, Jazz, Hornets, Spurs, Celtics, Wizards, Magics,  and Detroit. Next round will be a different.

    Lakers Win!

Game 1 of the first round goes to the Lakers with a 128 to 114 win over the Denver Nuggets. Pau played exceptionally well today as well as the rest of the team. This game wasn't as exciting as the Spurs/Suns game yesterday that went into double overtime, but a win is a win. It's been a week since my last entry. What the heck have I been doing? Photos and more photos. As well as working on the website and a couple banners. Also watched over 24hrs straight of CSI to catch up and free up some space on the DVR (so I can record some playoff games). Then as of Saturday, today, tomorrow, and so on I'll be watching the games. To my surprise, Gilbert Arenas is back for Wizards. The Cleveland/Wizards games will be more interesting to watch. Much like Kobe, Arenas is also one of those natural talents on the court that can take over the game.

    Hot day

Atsui desu ne! *sweat drop* Ate dim sum with a doctor friend yesterday. It was a very interesting and unexpected experience. What do you think of when you think of dim sum? It's usually crowded. People talking and plates clanking against each other that you can barely hear anyone speak. The walkways are crowded and servers are usually pushing carts with metal steamers yelling something along the lines of "ha gow, shiu mai, fung zwah, cha siu bao, ngow yuk yun, dan tat, etc" But this place was different. Mission 261, as it is called, is actually an old mission turned into a huge restaurant. It's in San Gabriel at the starting point of Los Angeles dating back to 1771. You get a menu to order from, all waiters are dressed up, all foods have photos, and they even serve teas like Chrysanthemum for hot days such as yesterday. The atmosphere is quiet and the people eating there act more civilized. The downside to it is that you have to wait for the food to come out from the kitchen instead of point, choose, and eat. (Kind of like the dim sum in Taiwan) There's no carts so it takes away from that traditional dim sum feel. Although this place seemed nice, I'm sure the traditional dim sum survived this long for a reason; the turnover is quick and they sell a lot more food, then leftovers, if any are sold at discount. When choosing from a menu, you tend to eat a bit more conservatively. "How many dishes did we already order?" Nice idea, but not sure if Asians will adapt to it from their old ways.

I noticed that my PC is down to 5gb of hard drive space on 2 of my drives. 10 gigs between the two. Eesh! Not a pretty sight. I started moving a bunch of files onto my WD MyBook. 500gb fills up fast. Photos taken within a month are 1gig+

    Saturday Morning

Don't you hate it when you just can't sleep? As opposed to my "I'm tired" or "time to sleep" messages, I have the worse case of Internet Insomnia today. It's past 6AM and I'm still awake. I have to be up in a few hours but I can't fall asleep to begin with. I'm not tired "enough" for my mind to shut down so I keep thinking about random things. Figured I might as well make the most out of my time by reading up on news online, but that has lead me to stay up even longer than expected.

    Update on Saturday:
So 6AM wasn't the worst of it. After getting offline, I still couldn't sleep. Ended up going online again on the iPod touch. Still no good. Then it was at the point where I just watched Saturday morning cartoons. Nothing on was good though. Ended up playing on the Nintendo DS. At this point it was around 8:30AM. Finished playing and tried to sleep again. The alarm telling me to get up rang 3 times while I was lying there. After the 3rd alarm, I was finally able to go to sleep only to have to get up 30 minutes later to meet for dim sum. After eating dim sum and a post office run for mailing out the tax forms, I finally came home where I crashed for about 2 hours. Upon returning to the apartment, Saturday night I slept perfectly fine.

    Tuesday Afternoon

This past weekend was quite a mayhem. My great uncle's birthday was on Saturday, putting him at 93 years old. My aunts invited all their church friends so on top of our rather large family were another 30+ people. The food was pretty good, but there was just no breathing space. Imagine squeezing maybe 45 people inside a house with most people standing to eat. Add Mandarin, Cantonese, and Indonesian to the soundtrack and you have yourself a headache.
The turtles finished all the guppies already. Two weeks ago there were still about 60 in the tank. There are 2 left in poor shape. One just gave birth but killed off all but 2 of it's babies. They moved to a larger feeding tank so there's more room. They've gotten slightly larger. They fit within the cave but the cave is getting harder to get in to and out of. Good thing I got the SUV this week, so I won't scratch the lip going up the driveway of Elliot's for Pets.
Two nights ago I watched Ghost House. It's a Korean "comedy" but I guess if it were to be compared to anything it would be the Chinese Mr. Vampire series. It's worth the watch. The female ghost is pretty cute, so there isn't anything to be scared of...unless you don't like chickens.
Last night a spent a great deal of time taking photos after bringing my sister back from Galleria at Tyler. Maybe 3 hours, or even more but no less, finally unboxing some of the stuff that's been sitting for a couple months. I'll use this opportunity to familiarize myself with Aperture 2. I'm not used to editing photos on a small screen anymore though, but working on a  15" is much better than 13".

I just got Aperture 2 today while on campus. The waived fee payed for 3/4 of it. Smile
